MEDLINE is the premier biomedical database produced by the National Library of Medicine. Currently there are over 11 million records from 3700+ journals dating back to 1960. Although many search interfaces are available, the data are not changed.
The OVID interface provides many features designed to help the user develop an efficient and relevant search. A variety of subject specific indexes in the Purdue University Libraries use the OVID interface.
The MEDLINE tutorial is divided into 6 modules. Each module builds on the previous one, so the tutorial should initially be done sequentially. Example search topics are illustrated in subsequent modules.
This tutorial is a brief introduction. If you require further assistance, consult a librarian.
